Score with your German skills

100% online
Study independently of location with a high degree of flexibility.

Purpose-driven and specialised
The courses are designed to equip you with the language skills needed to study or work in Germany. Language instruction is tailored to academic contexts and subject-specific terminology.

Accessible worldwide
Benefit from global availability and accessibility.

High teaching quality
Courses are taught by carefully selected and highly qualified instructors. The GJU language programme is certified, based on a proven teaching concept, and delivered by one of the world’s largest and most reputable German language centres.

Although our English-taught online degree programmes do not require any prior knowledge of German, learning the language can significantly enhance your academic and professional opportunities. German language skills may allow you to transfer to a related German-taught degree programme or continue your studies in Germany, for example in a German-taught master’s programme.

In addition, German proficiency can open the door to an internship semester in a German company and help you stand out in the local labour market. Over time, strong German language skills can also support your successful integration into the German labour market.

What to expect

The online German courses are fully digital modules developed by the German Language Center (GLC) at GJU and follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). All learning activities—both asynchronous and live online sessions—are fully digital, allowing you to participate from anywhere in the world. All examinations are conducted online by GJU.

While the courses do not lead to an external language certificate, they provide strong preparation for recognised exams such as the TestDaF. You may choose to take external certification exams independently or sit the TestDaF in person at the GJU TestDaF Centre.
