A Clear Roadmap
We offer a structured, reliable pathway from your current qualifications to a prestigious German degree.

Quick Check Do I need a Pre-Year?

Did you obtain your school-leaving certificate outside the EU? Check here if you meet the requirements to study at a German university directly or if our Pre-Year is your gateway.

1. Where did you graduate from school?

2. Does your certificate allow you to study at universities in your home country?

To legally qualify for university entry in Germany (HZB), your secondary school-leaving certificate must first grant you general university access in the country where you graduated.

3. Does your certificate qualify for direct admission?

Note: THWS can only officially verify your Higher Education Entrance Qualification (HZB) during the application process.
You can check your status beforehand in the DAAD database – simply answer the questions about your educational path and you will get a (non-binding) result regarding your eligibility. What is your result in the database?

4. Do you have an English language certificate for CEFR-Level B2 (upper intermediate) or higher?

Direct Admission Likely!

Certificates from the EU usually grant direct access to German higher education. You most likely do not need a Pre-Year and can apply directly for Engineering Science (B.Eng.) or Health and Environmental Psychology (B.Sc.).

You can create and account in our application portal and fill out the form.
