About the Course
Mountain bikes and wind turbines, sports shoes and smartphones, aircraft wings, toothbrushes and prosthetics—can you think of any other material that impacts our lives as widely and deeply as plastics?
From household products to industrial applications, plastics are indispensable. Without them, many innovations would be heavier, less sustainable, more expensive, less durable—or simply impossible. Plastics continue to enable new applications and improve existing ones, making products lighter, more environmentally friendly, more affordable, more versatile in design and longer lasting. This also applies to elastomers—soft, rubber-like plastics found in countless modern products.
As an engineer in Advanced Materials Engineering (Transnational), you will play a key role in shaping the future with these cutting-edge materials. Whether creating everyday essentials or high-tech innovations, your ideas will drive progress and bring groundbreaking products to life!
The Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) in Germany offers a transnational engineerings bachelor's programme in Advanced Materials Engineering (Transnational), which is taught partly at the German Jordanian University (GJU) in Amman, Jordan, and partly at THWS in Würzburg, Germany, in order to educate engineers for excelling in their careers. Typically, students take courses at GJU in a pre-year and then enrol at THWS. They graduate with a German university degree, which facilitates their potential continued residency in Germany for an initial period of up to 1.5 years to seek employment and, therefore, their entry into a career as engineers in a company.
