For your success

As a full-time programme, the Hydrogen Engineering programme comprises a standard study period of seven semesters, including an international internship semester. For the students who need to qualify for the programme by completing the pre-year at GJU, its two semesters will add up to a total of nine semesters - still less than the usual ten semesters of a regular Jordanian engineering programme. Most of the courses of the pre-year are accredited for the degree programme, reducing the workload in the following semesters and saving time capacities for the German language courses.

The pre-year as well as the first four semesters of the degree programme will be taught by GJU and THWS lecturers at GJU in Jordan. The last three semesters will be taught exclusively by THWS in Germany. Students will receive intensive German language and intercultural training to prepare them for a successful stay abroad.

Based on the German model of applied sciences, students gain practical experience through practice projects, lab sessions, a full internship semester and an industry-related bachelor thesis. Employability is at the heart of the curriculum, bridging any potential gap between academia and the professional field.

In the pre-year and the first two semesters, mainly fundamental subjects are taught, creating the prerequisites for successfully completing the advanced course content and the application project. This includes laboratory courses and student projects as a part of individual modules.

In the 6th semester, students complete the practical module as an internship in a company. This allows them to gain experience in professional practice and to build their first professional network.

In the 7th semester, students have the opportunity to write their bachelor thesis either after the practical module or after the application project in cooperation with a company. This allows students to build on the activities of the internship or application project and gain a deeper insight into current research and development topics in the industry.

Students are now ready and well-prepared to enter the job market. Immediately upon graduation, they can kick-start their personal professional career.
