Some financing options at a glance
Scholarships:

Sur Place and Third Country Scholarships for the Academic Year 2024/25
THWS Hosted Programmes
- B.Eng. Hydrogen Technology Engineering (Transnational)
- B.A. Social Work (Transnational)
In the academic year 2024/25, GJU’s strategic partner, the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) is granting scholarships for the most meritorious students of the hosted programmes B.Eng. Hydrogen Engineering (Transnational) and B.A. Social Work (Transnational) from funds provided by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
The Call for Application is open to
- students from Jordan and other countries who, at the time of the application deadline, are enrolled in the GJU pre-year for the hosted programmes B.Eng. Hydrogen Technology Engineering (Transnational) or B.A. Social Work (Transnational).
The scholarships are granted per academic year and may be extended each subsequent year of the studies at the German Jordanian University in Jordan under the condition that
- the performance of the scholarship holders stays consistently above average (GPA above 80%)
- the performance of the scholarship holders in the German language courses accompanying the degree programmes is consistently above average and
- funds provided by DAAD remain available.
Application Phase and Deadline
Students of the hosted programmes from Jordan and other countries can apply for Sur Place and Third Country Scholarships in the academic year 2024/2025, starting from 5th August 2024. The deadline for submitting the applications is Sunday, 13 October 2024, 12:00 p.m.
Pre-Requisites and Application Requirements
Applicants must fill in the application form and upload the pending application documents using the following link:

- CV
- Copy of Passport (or ID)
- Certified copy of secondary school certificate (tawjihi or equivalent) with GPA in percentage
- Letter of motivation in English
The selection process is based on the submitted documents and will be finalized by an independent selection committee. The best applicants will be selected for a scholarship based on the GPA. In case of identical GPAs, the decision will be based on the motivation letter as a subsidiary criterion (including social aspects).
Please kindly note that the described THWS scholarships from funds provided by DAAD can only be awarded if a selected applicant does not receive another scholarship with the same purpose (grant for fees and/or living expenses).
The Sur Place and Third Country Scholarships comprise of
- a lump sum that covers part of the study fees at GJU (2.500, - Euro per year, paid in two installments). Please find an overview of the study fees of the hosted programmes here: https://campusgate.thws.de/hydrogen-technology/fees
- a lump sum that covers part of the monthly costs of living (600, - Euro per month, paid in regular installments). [1]
Complaints mechanism: After the deadline, the applications will be reviewed by a committee. The initial results are planned to be communicated to the candidates in the week starting from 11 November 2024.
After, there will be an appeal phase of 48 hours. Only appeals sent in the mentioned appeal phase and to campusgate-jordan@gju.edu.jo will be considered.
