The German Jordanian University (GJU) was founded in 2005 and is based on a partnership between Germany and Jordan. The university is a unique institution that is characterized by its international orientation, especially the strong German-Jordanian cooperation, and its applied science approach. The university promotes a holistic academic experience and prepares students for a global professional world.

German-Jordanian partnership

The Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) and the German Jordanian University (GJU) form an important German-Jordanian partnership in the field of higher education. This collaboration, based on shared values and principles, offers a unique platform for the exchange of knowledge, culture and innovation between Germany and Jordan.

The partnership enables students from both universities to take part in excellent programmes which focus on employability and innovation. The integration of German teaching methods and quality standards ensures the highest academic standards.

Both the THWS and the GJU place great importance on practice-oriented training. Students benefit from mandatory internships, projects with industry partners and the application of knowledge in real-life situations.

The collaboration also includes German courses at the GJU to promote language skills. Moreover, the intercultural exchange between German and Jordanian students strengthens the understanding of cultural diversity.
